With a privileged location in Switzerland’s Valais region, nestled high in the mountains of Leukerbad, this world-class exclusive getaway sparkles with enticing holiday vibes. The 51 Degrees Thermal Resort designed and developed by Marc-Michaels Interior Design Inc. mixes modernity and nature in a “friendly” manner. Part traditional chalet, part luxury, this striking Switzerland retreat appeals to the most demanding of visitors.A wide range of skiing opportunities combined with thermal spa experiences make this place alluring: “51 Degrees Resort combines infinite amenities of modern living with Swiss charm; it is where traditions of Roman, Russian and Swiss bathhouses are not just integrated into everyday life, but are integrated into homes“. Staying true to this majestic location, the designers combined natural materials and textures (wood and stone were extensively employed) in order to create a genuine atmosphere. Enjoy the photos!
Interior designer and 3d artist Mokhles Mohamed sent us renderings of this Modern Villa. It is located in Dammam, the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Singapore-based architectural firm ONG&ONG has completed the 55 Blair Road project in 2009. As its name suggests, this two story contemporary residence is located 55 Blair Road in Singapore. We can't help but gather great ideas on how to create practical open plan spaces from these two realistic sized apartments, that have been beautifully visualized by Artem Lazarev. With calm yet confident color palettes, flowing furniture layouts and clever storage designs. Apartment design number one begins in the lounge area, which at first glance appears to be larger than the average living room. But on closer inspection, we see that the spacious feel has been created by moving the couch into the center of the room, where even though there is not a great area left between the return of the sofa and the fireplace, the flow of space around it creates an airier design. As is typical now in modern life, an entire wall has been dedicated to home entertainment–though on this occasion the design incorporates an attractive bank of wooden fuel for the fire that has been moved to a second billing position at the side. This shuffling of priorities allows the TV to be enjoyed at the optimum position whilst avoiding heat damage, but still allows the homeowner to enjoy a cozy fireside ambiance as an alternative to the hidden heating system. An L-shaped kitchen allows space to situate a modest dining table to accommodate four diners. The small space still manages to evoke the feeling of luxury with the help of two striking pendant lights; in terms of light distribution, one light would suffice over the eating area, but in terms of design a duo gives a greater result. Immediately behind the sofa, an eight seat dining suite fits in the slot with just enough space around it to pull out the chairs. Try to avoid pushing your dining suite up against a wall “to create more space” if you can help it, as it will actually make your room appear more cramped. A central column has been clad with attractive shelving units that house a multitude of items, thus disguising a necessary architectural function. The owner of a sublime villa in Rotterdam gave designer Robert Kolenik carte blanche to reinvent its interiors. According to the official press release we were sent by Kolenik, the result can be summed up as “eco chic eye-candy for extremely comfortable living“. Take the living room for example. With that grand, eye-catching, custom-made Proud couch by Kolenik measuring 6.5m in length, together with a pivoting door from Kolenik’s own Bo’dor collection. Sheer happiness is expressed by the kitchen with its illuminated tabletop made from pure white onyx and supported by a lychee tree trunk. Kolenik’s global boutique design studio has pulled out all the stops with the master bedroom as well: an en suite walk-in-closet with flush fish leather handles and a bathroom that embodies the wellness experience and boasts twin lit sinks in black onyx. Illuminating the villa is Maretti lighting while Kolenik’s own floor lamp ‘Dream’ radiates out from the corner of the gorgeous kitchen. In the basement there is a bar and cinema, with a Kharma sound system to make the entire house tantalising for the ears as well as the eyes. All the electronics are automated by Bits & Bytes, while the latest techniques in water pump devices and the use of rainwater make the house more sustainable.
